How often are sessions scheduled?
You can schedule your sessions to meet your needs and particular situation. Often individuals schedule once weekly until they see an improvement in their situation, and then discuss whether or not to move toward less frequent sessions.
How long does therapy take?
Therapy sessions are 55 minutes long. How long you stay in therapy, whether it is six weeks, six months, or longer, is entirely your choice and varies based on your needs.
What's your cancellation policy?
If you need to miss an appointment, Kristin requires at least 24 hours advance notice of the cancellation. If for any reason you do not provide 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged a $100 fee for your appointment. Payment is due at the time your session was scheduled.
Do you take insurance?
Kristin is an "in network" insurance provider for Illinois Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO and BCBS Blue Choice (BCE, BCO, BCS) and United Healthcare PPO plans. You will only be responsible for any co-pays, coinsurance, or deductibles as outlined in your plan.
Kristin is an "out of network" provider for other types of insurance. If you are out of network, she will work with your insurance company to facilitate partial reimbursement for your health insurance company in accordance with your policy using the Health Insurance Claim form. If you choose not to use your insurance benefits you can self pay an out of pocket fee. Payment is expected at the time of service.
All payments can be made by cash, personal check, or credit card. You are also able to utilize a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card for payment.
How do I verify my insurance benefits?
If you would like to utilize your managed health care plan, please email or call your insurance’s customer service line and ask for Outpatient Mental/Behavioral Health. Inquire as to the following:
What is the benefit eligibility for in-network and out-of-network providers?
What is the co-payment or co-insurance amount?
Do you have an annual deductible? With a deductible, you will have to pay the full allowable amount as set by your insurance until you meet your annual deductible before a co-insurance kicks in.
What is the patient responsibility after the deductible is met?
Is pre-certification or authorization required for out patient behavioral health services? If so, Kristin can discuss this with you more in detail.
